Course Overview

In ATTAR’s Level 2 course, you will learn from expert Level 3 certified trainers through a combination of theory, guided discussions, demonstrations and practical tasks. You will gain an understanding of the principles, procedures and applications of visual inspection, and will be able to use and interpret a range of testing methods.

There are many applications of visual and optical inspection, including the inspection of castings, forgings, welds and machined components, to name a few. A wide range of industries can use this testing, but it is most commonly seen in aviation, oil and gas, fabrication, foundaries and power generation.

This course also provides an ideal foundation for further courses in non-destructive testing and is suitable for all non-destructive testing technicians, inspectors, as well as those responsible for quality control or quality assurance.

Learning Outcome

Upon completion of this course, you will be competent and confident in utilising a variety of techniques to inspect a range of components. You will demonstrate an understanding of some of the key standards for visual testing.

ATTAR’s course is available internationally and features an Australian Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (AINDT) approved syllabus. This means that the upon completion, you can complete AINDT examinations, leading to AINDT certification. Our course also meets the training and examination requirements for Level 2 Visual/Optical Testing under ISO 9712 – Non-Destructive Testing – Qualification and Certification of Personnel – General Engineering.
