Training & Assessment

Effective use of NDT methodology depends on the skills of the technicians involved

ATTAR is a recognised training and examination provider; successful completion of ATTAR training courses may be used as a pathway to:

  • AINDT Certification
  • PCN Certification (through BINDT)
  • Complete other qualifications, such as certificate(s) in the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF)

As an Authorised Qualifying Body (AQB) for both AINDT & BINDT, and a Registered Training Organisation (RTO),  ATTAR is authorized to train and assess competency in accordance with:

  • Australian Standards AS 3998 / AS 3669 / AS 4635 and international standard ISO 9712; and
  • The Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) & Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF)

While the course content is similar, the manner in which evidence of competency and assessment are evaluated is different, in accordance with the requirements of the relevant scheme.  It is important to note that while a student may successfully complete an ATTAR training course in accordance with AQF, he/she may fail to successfully complete the requirements of AS 3998.
